Someone, somewhere is lucky and has managed to get hold of Gears of War 2 already. They’ve uploaded footage of one of the boss fights (which they lose). There’s been some negative comments regarding the footage, some of it around the “bland” water effects, however I don’t think you can really criticise the graphics based on some cam footage of the game. The game play however, does look slightly boring and uninspired. The tentacle just seems to flop down and allow itself to be chain sawed, it’s very old school style boss in that it follows a repetitive set of actions.
Check it out for your self below. At the end it really reminds me of the kraken from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Thanks to a friend I managed to get hold of a Call of Duty : World at War Beta Key. I loved Call of Duty 4, it was the first game in a long while that lured me back into playing online. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the previous Call of Duty Games, especially COD2. However there was so much more atmosphere to Call of Duty 4 in both the single player and multiplayer experiences.
So I was excited to be playing Call of Duty World at War, a lot of the interface will seem very familiar to players of COD2, 3 & 4. However for me that was where a lot of the similarities ended. To be fair it’s not that there’s anything wrong with the game, it’s more that it seems like a step backwards instead of forwards, which in terms of time period it is. I loved the hi-tech weapondary of COD4 and going back to using a M1A1 Thompson isn’t all that great at all.
The graphics are fairly good, although they appeared somewhat cartoonish to me, however that could just be me Overall it’s not bad, and I think only being able to play the multiplayer means that it’s difficult get get a good feel for the entire game. I know i’ll probably end up buying it anyway as I’ve enjoyed the single player campaigns on all the Call of Duty games.
This is sort of old news now I guess, and i’ve seen various sites mentioning it. However now there’s a map to where the advert is apparently. I haven’t looked myself as I don’t own a copy of Burnout Paradise yet (moving house is expensive).
The Obama Ad
The advert itself can apparently be found at the location below:
Microsoft has come up with a storage solution for owners of the Core or Arcade xBox 360 Systems, whilst this solution isn’t free it does offer storage at a cut down price and in one case with three months of xBox Live Gold chucked in.
In order to apply for your storage solution you need to visit http://www.xboxstorageupgrade.com here you can enter your serial number and Microsoft can assess the free space on your console and make sure you don’t have at least 128MB free. Apparently according to some they can tell if your Core or Arcade System has had a HD or Memory Card added.
The solution for each console type is shown below:
Xbox 360 Arcade owners will get 1 refurbished 20GB HardDrive and 3 Months of Xbox Live Gold for $30.
Xbox 360 Core owners will get a 512MB Memory Card for free OR a a refurbished 20GB HardDrive for $20.
I’m not entirely sure why there are two different options for what are essentially the same package, I have read other comments saying that some owners are only being offered the $20 option for some reason. Anyway if you want to enjoy the New xBox Experience you’ll need that extra storage.
The Dreamcast is still one of my favourite consoles of all time, despite it’s issues some of the games were awesome (Jet Set Radio, Ready to Rumble). It was also the first time I’d ever browsed The Web on a TV set, albeit very blurry on those pre-HDTVs. Also it was about a week after launch before I could connect to the Sega Service due to the high demand.
Anyway, this morning I saw these two great videos about the rise and fall of Sega’s last console, definitely worth a watch.
Nintendo’s new DSi has officially been announced, it boasts some new features such as SD card support, two cameras and slightly larger screens, whilst at the same time being 12% slimmer than it’s predercessor the DS Lite.

Built in Web Browser Application (Most likely Opera)

Whilst the hardware is 12% slimmer it is missing the GBA slot, however if you like your GBA games that much you can pick up a GBA really cheap now days.
