I’ve used a lot of these calculators myself to work out exactly how much I can afford to borrow and over what period of time I can afford to borrow the money.

The last thing you’ll want to happen is to buy your house and then find out that you can barely afford to pay the mortgage or even worse you can’t afford to pay it at all and you risk losing your house and ending up in debt.

A mortgage isn’t like a normal loan it’s more complicated and like other loans does carry some risks, you’ll need to make sure you are financially secure before you think about taking out a mortgage if you are not there’s a good chance your mortgage provider will turn you down, which is for your own good as much as theirs.
