Xbox ISO to DVD

Burning Xbox ISOs to DVD-R

OK so you’ve got an ISO backup of one of you Xbox games on your PC all you need to do now is burn the ISO to a DVD (preferably DVD-R). Well this guide should tell you all you need to know about the process, I’ll be using Nero Burning ROM to burn the DVD-R.

Step 1 – Locate the Xbox Game ISO

First you need to make sure you’ve got an Xboxgame backup ISO to burn. The file extension should be .iso. The icon for the file may vary but if you have winrar installed on your PC the Xbox ISO will probably have the winrar icon as shown in the picture below.

Step 2 – Open Xbox ISO with Nero

Ok now open Nero and go to file and then open, navigate the file chooser to get to your Xbox ISO, select the ISO and click open.

Step 3 – Check DVD Burn Settings

Once you’ve clicked open you should see the Burn Compilation window. Click the Foreign Image tab and make sure all the numbers match the ones in the screen shot below. If they don’t then you need to extract the ISO and then recreate the ISO, (See the Creating Xbox ISO Guide).

Step 4 – Burn Xbox ISO to DVD

If all the settings were correct then click on the burn tab and choose the lowest burn speed (this increases the chances of the DVD working in the Xbox). Ok Now click Burn!

Step 5 – Play Your Xbox Back Up

Ok once the DVD burn has finished eject the DVD from your PC and put it in your Xbox and if all went well your backup Xbox game should load up. If the backup game DVD doesn’t work try burning at a lower speed (if possible)or more likely try different DVD-R media, I use Sony DVD-R 1 – 8X. If your Xbox is able to recognise the DVD but can’t play it try extracting the ISO contents and rebuilding the ISO using Quix with this Guide.
